The Skimmer or Foam Fractionator, injects air into a water stream creating tiny bubbles which attach to organics in the water column and carry them out of the tank. Our skimmer, a Coralife Super Skimmer 220, incorporates a needle wheel in the pump which chops up the incoming bubbles in millions of tinier bubbles allowing for more surface area to trap organic waste.
